COOLING WATER TREATMENT |
 |
|
| Corrosion, scale, and other impurities in process cooling
water systems can waste energy and reduce heat transfer efficiency.
Artesian offers products containing corrosion inhibitors employing
all synthetic non-polluting materials. This technology makes
possible many Artesian chemical treatment programs designed
to inhibit scale and corrosion. These have led to dispersant
and fouling control programs using polymers, sequestrants and
microbiocides. In each one, Artesian has made every effort to
formulate its treatment program for compatibility with all regulatory
agencies.
An Artesian cooling water program involves total
water management chemistry. It starts with an evaluation of
your cooling system by an Artesian water specialist. It continues
with field and laboratory analyses of scale, corrosion, fouling
and microbiological problems. It may also be followed by environmental
studies of make up and wastewater. By implementing our program
for chemical treatment, fomulation, feeding and system monitoring
we are saving industry significant amounts of energy everyday. |
| TOTAL
COOLING SYSTEM MANAGEMENT |
 |
 |
Source Water Analysis: |
| |
Artesian determines the content and chemistry
of incoming water through proper sampling and analysis.
Seasonal and other variations are taken into account.
|
 |
Pre-Treatment equipment
Engineering: |
| |
Artesian water specialists determine the need
for Equipment to percipitate, clarify, filter, soften,
exchange ions and monitor treatment of source water.
|
 |
Cooling Tower and
System Balance: |
| |
Water balance is precisely controlled by Artesian
chemical formulations and feeding/monitoring equipment.
Together they can control scale, inhibit corrosion
and solve microbiological problems resulting from
cooling water exposure to airborne and process contamination.
Artesian formulations can also be selected to control
fouling, foaming and odor. |
 |
Clean Equipment: |
| |
By continuously monitoring the water system, the
Artesian program keeps heat exchangers and condensers
clean. Significant energy, water and chemical savings
are possible. Feeding and control equipment can
be manual, semi- or fully automatic, and can apply
chemical formulations in powder, briquette or liquid
form. Artesian formulations are safe to handle,
easy to apply and provide minimal inventory requirements.

Evaluation of Discharge
Water for Make-Up Use: |
| |
Water discharges including blowdown and process
water, can be evaluated to determine the treatment
and costs involved in preparing them for re-use.
Recycling this water effectively reduces disposal
costs. |

COOLING TOWER /
HEAT EXCHANGER BENEFITS : |
 |
Reduces under-deposit corrosion and fouling
due to microorganism growth.
|
 |
Keeps heat transfer performance close to original efficiency. |
 |
Minimizes microorganism invasion and growth. |
 |
Improves heat utilization and reduces energy consumption. |
 |
Produces cleaner cooling surfaces for better inhibitor action. |
|
|
 |
WHAT A PROGRAM
INCLUDES : |
 |
Cooling water system survey. |
 |
Water sampling to determine flow patterns
and rates. |
 |
Laboratory analysis of sample for microorganism
presence, when necessary. |
 |
A customized Artesian Total Water Management
Program including an alternating or multi-component microbiocide
program, balanced for compatibility with all other chemicals
in the water system. |
 |
Instructing your cooling system technician
on how, and when, to use test kits to check for microbial
contaminants. |
