SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT |
 |
|
| Service
Commitment : |
 |
| In addition to routine evaluation of the chemical applications
and feed equipment our program will include specific services
designed to improve over all program performance. This
intensive initial service is to fully implement the Artesian
customized Water Treatment Program. After the transition
when systems are functioning well we determine the normal
service frequency as scheduled with customer personnel
in order to maintain the water system parameters and maximize
system efficiency. Artesian's commitment to its' customers
is reflected by the superior service we offer. Artesian
service is performed much more frequently than the industry
standard. This frequency is exclusive of equipment inspections
or other special needs. The following is a typical Artesian
service commitment: |
|
| Initial
Commitment: |
 |
| 1 |
Directional support to ease the transition
to Artesian products. |
| 2 |
Artesian MSDS sheets for each chemical. |
| 3 |
Prepare control manuals on all systems with emergency
procedures that address system upsets. |
| 4 |
Prepare control charts and testing procedures.
|
| 5 |
Engineering assistance in installing tanks and
containment - where needed. |
| 6 |
Provide inplant training of operating personnel.
|
|
|
| Routine
Service Commitment: |
 |
| 1 |
Review of operator testing. |
| 2 |
System testing, written analysis, and recommendations
on service reports copied to all appropriate personnel.
|
| 3 |
Report chemical inventories and coordinate orders
as needed. |
| 4 |
Check calibration of boiler and cooling system
control equipment and adjust calibration as needed.
|
| 5 |
Conduct corrosion monitoring with corrosion coupons,
corrosion meters or pipe sections on an on going
basis. The frequency will be discussed at the initial
review and modified as needed. |
|
|
| Specialized
Service: |
 |
| 1 |
Perform equipment inspections and
document with a written report and photographs,
if possible. |
| 2 |
Corrosion coupon studies. |
| 3 |
System Profiles. |

| Laboratory
Support Capabilities: |
 |
| Artesian Laboratories utilizes a functional
analytical laboratory, equipped with modern, high technology
equipment, to support the specialized needs of customers
and field personnel. These facilities are located in Charleston,
WV; Cleveland, OH, Decatur, AL and Roanoke, VA. As Artesian
Laboratories has grown, it has continued to expand to
support this growth. The following is a list of services
available to our customers: |
 |
Classical wet chemistry
methods for water and wastewater analysis, as well
as deposit determinations. These methods include
balances, titration's, muffle furnace gravimetric
analysis, and all conventional qualitative and quantitative
inorganic analytical techniques. |
 |
Visible and ultraviolet spectrophotometry.
|
 |
Infrared spectrophotometry using
a computerized data bank for determining the composition
of organic deposits. |
 |
Atomic absorption for accurate low
level determinations of metals in water and fuel
oil samples. |
 |
Conventional ion exchange analysis,
including salt splitting tests, microscopic examinations,
identification of resin foulants and contaminants,
resin cleanup recommendations, etc. |
 |
Routine fuel oil analytical capabilities,
such as centrifugal B S & W analysis, bomb calorimeter,
A analysis of metals, etc. |
 |
Specific ion electrodes for routine
laboratory and in-plant determinations of common
water soluble inorganics. |
 |
General and specific microbiological
determinations, including autoclaves, incubators,
etc. for measuring both total and differential organism
counts in water samples. |
 |
Conventional laboratory analysis
of corrosion coupons, using industry approved methods
for coupon preparation, cleaning, weighing and reporting.
|
 |
Computerized studies of submitted
water samples to determine Langelier and Ryznar
stability indices under variable conditions of temperature,
pH and makeup water cycles of concentration. |
